The Tartar remover can be used manually (simply held in the hand) or as an attachment to the emmi-dent Professional / Metallic or emmi-pet hand piece (which makes holding the tartar remover easier), to give teeth a "micro clean". It works purely mechanically by abrasive action, and does not use ultrasound.  
 
Please observe the following when using the tartar remover: 
For use only every 2 months. Excessive friction can damage dental enamel. In case of persistant plaque, please increase the time of micro teeth cleaning as required.
